1. Seniors Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program

The Seniors Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides low-income seniors with eligible fresh produce with the goal of improving their health and nutritional status. Each SFMNP participant will receive a book of coupons worth $50.00 (ten $5.00 coupons) to exchange for fresh, nutritious, and unprocessed locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey from an authorized farmer, farmers’ market, or roadside stand (outlet).

2. Senior Shopping Hours at Major Stores


Walmart

7- 8 am Tuesdays


Foodland

6 a.m. to 7 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays until further notice. The 5% “Senior Thursdays” discount on these days/times will still apply. “


Safeway

6:00 am to 9:00 am every Tuesday and Thursday.

The set hours are available for senior citizens, and other at-risk members of our community such as pregnant women or those with compromised immune systems.
